A manual therapeutic procedure for remedying distortions in the structure and function of the craniosacral mechanism. This mechanism consists of the membranes that contain the cerebrospinal fluid which surrounds the brain, the spinal column, as well as the cranial bones (head and face).
Cranial Sacral therapy is a gentle, non-invasive method of evaluating and enhancing the function of the physiological body system called the canicacal system. The Cranial Sacral system begins with the brain and circulates through the system to and from the end of the spine.
Cranial bones are not fused; the skull's sutures reveal zipper-like lines designed to allow for the subtle movement of the cranial bones.
Benefit from Craniosacral Therapy
The skull bones move in unison with the rhythmic flow of cerebrospinal fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord. Cerebrospinal fluid is responsible for nourishing and protecting the central nervous system. Adjusting the cranial bones restores mobility to this enclosed system and reduces stress on all of the involved tissues. Gentle manipulation of the cranial-sacral bones and fluids can improve the functioning of the central nervous system, organs, and muscles throughout the body.
By complementing the body's natural healing processes, CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster disease resistance and is effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction, including:

Motor-Coordination Impairments Colic
Autism Central Nervous System Disorders
Orthopedic Problems Traumatic Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries
Scoliosis Infantile Disorders
Learning Disabilities Chronic Fatigue
Emotional Difficulties Stress and Tension-Related Problems
Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome (TMJ) Neurovascular or Immune Disorders
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Post-Surgical Dysfunction
