The Historic Home Rehabilitation Program by NHS supports property owners in preserving and restoring homes within Los Angeles' Historic Preservation Overlay Zones. The program assists with navigating the city’s planning approval process by providing help in preparing required materials, such as architectural plans. Participants are also paired with USC students from the Heritage Conservation and Architecture programs, who offer guidance and act as liaisons with Los Angeles City Planning to ensure historically appropriate rehabilitation.
